Pit stop on our way to SF and go glad we did because these sandwiches were delicious. There was a bit of a wait to get them but seems like they were working fast it's just in very high demand! We got a chicken pesto sandwich and their classic beef one and both were melt in your mouth good! I wish I got a tee shirt! Thank you Yelp for helping us find this little gem. I love a good sandwich! And this was GREAT!

The last time I trusted yelp for an Oakdale meal threatened to be the last time I trusted yelp for an Oakdale meal. One more time though, and that notion was expelled. On this visit, the yelp-o-sphere steered me directly to Ferrarese's and by visit's end my dining partner was saying things like "next time we're here I'm going to order...".
There will be a next time and probably a time after that.
I am not a sandwich person but I have mad appreciation for a good BLT. Something about the varied combination of flavors, textures, and temperatures renders a sandwich more nuanced than a mass of meat placed between carbs. At Ferrarese's, they sub out sprouts for lettuce and sub in crispy, thick Applewood Smoked Bacon. It all nestles inside two slabs of thick toasted wheat bread and it's exquisite, best in class.
It'll be hard to knock me off the BLS bandwagon here but I've seen photos of their salads (my usual go to) and they look fabulous. I've read of their giant meatball and it too looks compelling. Perhaps I'll just have to spend a weekend in Oakdale rather than an hour.
Sandwiches are served with a choice of sides and the potato salad was very good. The Pastrami Sandwich was juicy and ample and if you're a fan of mainly meat sandwiches, you'll have to weigh that against some other amazing looking offerings.
Oakdale looks like a town with lot of interesting places to try but I'll probably never know. Ferrarese's is my new Oakdale place and I'm really happy to have found it. Yelp did me good with this recommendation. -

This is probably my most favorite restaurant in Oakdale. In the summer you have to try their summer berry salad with their homemade poppy seed dressing. It's amazing! Their spaghetti, meatballs, and lasagne are all delicious as well.
And don't forget to try the cheesecake or turtle brownie! YUM! -

Love this restaurant! My friend and I would plan our yearly "girls" trip around their open hours! My husband and I gout of our way to stop and get their grilled cheese and mushroom sandwich with spaghetti salad!

Absolutely worth the wait! Sandwiches are top notch. My go to is the tri tip with a side of bbq sauce. Husband love the roast beef Leo and jello salad. This is often our go to for take out on nights we don't want to cook. They do take call in orders as well.
